Practice Experience

  • Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Stanford, CA, November 2008 to Present. Responsible for CyberKnife radiosurgery for benign and malignant disease. Provides trauma coverage and other on call Neurosurgery coverage.

  • Attending Physician, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (Stanford Affiliate), San Jose, CA, February 2008 to Present. Responsible for critically ill brain and spine patients at San Jose’s ACS Level I trauma hospital. Specializes in cranial trauma and complex spine surgery. Supervises PA staff, manages department educational calendar, participates in clinical research, and assists with house officer supervision.

  • Attending Physician and CEO, Northern California Neurosurgery Medical Group, Inc., Fremont, CA, 1991 to February 2008. CEO of large multispecialty brain, spine and pain practice. Supervised seven to ten attending physicians and 45 to 55 support staff. Served six hospitals and four surgery centers in three counties. Grew a private practice to a company with annual revenues of $18M. Provided over 200 new patient consults per month and served a clinic population of approximately 18,000 patients. Specialized in complex spinal surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, interventional pain management, and general neurosurgery. Personally performed up to 500 procedures annually.
